As part of the renovation of a house, the treads and railing of its staircase needed replacement. Sounds simple enough? This staircase had a complex curved asymmetrical pony wall with a handrail. With conventional measuring methods, this would have been an extremely risky task that would most likely have produced parts that would not fit at the time of install. The client spent 4 months searching for the right stair-builder, who was able to accurately measure the curve of the wall and accomplish the task to his satisfaction. Stefan Bieg from Bieg Treppen-Werkstatt and his Flexijet 3D system was eventually engaged in the project.
With Flexijet 3D, it was easy to capture all measurements and curves in CAD three-dimensionally. The time consuming process of making MDF or cardboard templates was thankfully avoided and the digital templates created with Flexijet 3D were immediately ready for CNC processing and production. The result… perfectly fitting stair parts, that were quickly installed without any additional reworking on site. A profitable job completed to the full satisfaction of the client… made possible with Flexijet 3D.
