Zabeel Palace is the Dubai residence and administrative headquarters of the Ruling Royal family of Dubai. During construction, the helipad and driveway entrance was designed with a large mosaic design containing LED lighting recessed into the paving. Using the unique point projection feature of Flexijet 3D, stainless steel brackets were positioned on-site with high accuracy. These brackets were used to support a stainless steel top plate integrated with laminated glass panels and LED lighting. The procedure involved importing a CAD drawing as a 'DWG' file that comprised 14,000 CAD points that represented the mounting positions of the brackets on the slightly sloped concrete foundation. Flexijet 3D projected these points on the worksite with a high degree of precision.
The accurate marking of relevant installation points were completed on-site in less than 30 hours. Due to the enormous size of the project and the precision required, using conventional set-out methods would have made it impossible to meet the required deadline.
